Arrive Leh
Upon arrival in Leh, welcome by our local representative and transfer to a Ladakhi style guest house or Hotel. Rest of the day you are required to take a complete rest for acclimatization to the arid high altitude of Leh (3505 m) In the evening you will enjoy the sunset point(Shanti stupa). Overnight in a Hotel.
Explore Indus valley
On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries and most popular in this area. Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa. Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. This Monastery is more than 500 year old. Hemis Monastery, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by mountains and fronted by long Mani walls. Sindhu ghard Darshan to Holy Indus river. Amir Khan school Or 3 Idiots shoot school. Leh Place: Is build by King Sengge Namgail of Namgail Dynasty in 17th century. The Palace is nine story high, and it overlook the leh main Market, Stok Kangri. The upper story was earlier used by the royal family. Now The palace is open for tourists. The collection of jewellery, ornaments, Thangkas, ceremonial dresses, crowns, and centuries-old pieces of jewellery are kept here for public display. Overnight in Hotel.
Leh to Nubra valley
Today after breakfast drive about 04- 05 hrs [125 kms ] to Nubra – known as the valley of followers. After driving for about 02 hrs we will reach – The world`s highest motorable road called Khardongla high about 18,380 feets above sea level. From the top we can see the most beautiful view of Indus valley & its snow covered peaks towering the sky and on the other side of the pass if weather remains clear we can see Karakorum mountain range and peaks too. We descend down to a beautiful valley & transfer to the accommodation. have a rest till evening; before sun sets we will take you for a short drive to Hunder sand dunes to visit & ride double-humped Bactrian camels, later back to the accommodation for overnight stay. If time permits we will have a village walk to see local people & its culture.
Nubra to Leh
Morning after breakfast we will visit the most picturesque Disket monastery on the hill top. Later continued to drive to the other side of Nubra valley – was the main part of the silk route. We will continue our drive back to Leh via Khardongla. Reach Leh & transfer to Hotel overnight stay
Leh – Pangong, via Chang la (pass)
After breakfast, drive (154 km / 6 hrs) to the spectacular Changthang Valley, winding your way over the exhilarating Chang la (5320 m) – the second highest point of our journey. The landscape on the way to Pangong is just spectacular. Overnight in fixed cam or guesthouse
Pangong Explore and drive back to Leh
The Lake is situated at 13,930 ft./ about 4,300 m above sea level and is 125 km long, but is only four km at its widest and extends almost in a straight line way to Tibet; in fact, only a quarter of the lake is in India. En route you will see some Himalayan marmots & migrated birds. Later, retrace your steps to Leh for an overnight stay in a hotel
